This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Don't you just love to sit at your desk all day? Neither do the scholars at our school! We like to make learning more effective by allowing our scholars to work around our classrooms.
Our students attend a public PreK - 8th Title 1 school in an urban area of North Carolina.
Over 50% of our students are reading below grade level and both teachers and students are working very hard to change that statistic drastically. Our students are faced with a variety of problems related to poverty, but almost all of them love coming to school and learning.
My Project
The students will use these clipboards to lean on in the classroom. We want our students to be able to work in the optimal learning environment for them. That may be on the floor! Without the clipboards, it is hard for our scholars to work in spots other than their desks because they don't have anything to lean on.
This project is important because we want our students to feel comfortable in our classrooms so that they can do their best learning.
We like to spread the students out around the classroom. As a result of not having clipboards, this does not happen very frequently. We are very hopeful that we will have clipboards soon!
