Learning Around the (Play) Kitchen Table

My Students

Our students learn in a diverse, neighborhood school. My students take part in a Spanish/English Dual Language program. Half of my students speak Spanish at home, and the other half are Spanish language learners. They are bright, compassionate students who have a love for school and learning.

Our students are energetic and brimming with promise, yet do not always have access to the resources they need to reach their full potential.

These children are our future and I can't wait to see where they take us!

My Project

One of the most popular choice centers, or playtime centers, in my classroom is the kitchen center. The kindergarteners love to play kitchen, restaurant, family, and all other sorts of imaginative games in our classroom's play kitchen. Unfortunately, our kids' sized table and chairs are falling apart and we are in desperate need of new ones.

We learn so much around our kitchen tables at home, and my kindergarteners learn just as much around the little table in our play kitchen in the classroom.

They learn to compromise and sharing all while growing their imaginations. I'd love to be able to have a sturdy set of chairs and tables that kindergarteners can learn and play around with for years to come!
