My Students
I am an Arabic teacher who works with students across various grade levels. We just found out that our school year will start remotely and my students need resources to help support this mode of learning.
Students, regardless of their cultural background, where they live, or which school they attend, should be given access to the resources needed to make learning a success.
I work in a school with a very high low-income student population in Chicago, Illinois. Many of my students have very limited resources available to them and I am constantly seeking ways to compensate for this by giving them access to the tools that they need to make their learning productive and successful.
My Project
Transitioning to remote learning has been a challenge for students, parents, and teachers. In many cases, educators do not have the necessary tools and resources they need in order for them to fully engage their students in distance learning. Often times, the teaching materials (textbooks, workbooks, posters) used in schools are paper-based and the transition to virtual learning has had teachers scrambling to create online materials that are comparable. These materials need to offer students the scaffolding that is necessary to learn across all subject areas-even a foreign language such as Arabic. This is where you come in.
With your donation, you can help provide my students with digital versions of their workbook, homework, assessments, and guided learning plans for Arabic language class.
