Help me give my students an iPad, which will deepen their learning and allow them to share pictures about their native countries.

My Students
Our 65 English Language Learners come from countries around the world such as the Philippines, Vietnam, Jerusalem, and the Marshall Islands. Each of them have their own story about their life and what makes them special and unique. I love how they beam with pride when they share things about their culture with their classmates and me!
My Project
Technological devices like an iPad make learning come to life and make concepts more comprehensible. The saying "A picture is worth a thousand words" precisely describes learning with and iPad, and is even more evident for our English Language Learners.
When describing how lava flows out of a volcano to a student who has never seen a volcano or lava, it is limited to what the child can visualize on their own.
This can be very difficult if the child has no background knowledge about the topic. But showing the child a video of lava spewing out of the volcano increases comprehension and makes learning come to life! The child is also so engaged and interested now that s/he has deepened his/her understanding of the concept being taught.
An iPad will also allow the students to share pictures and videos of their native culture and customs so that we can further appreciate and celebrate how special they are! My ELL students would greatly benefit from a gift of this valuable learning tool.
