This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day, my students start off in our gathering circle. After they take care of housekeeping, we come together to discuss what we will be learning about today. They can't wait to start the fun learning. This is our motto: Listen, Think, and Try! My students work hard every day and they are super eager to learn.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds.
They range from students who are learning the English language (ELL/ESL students) to ones who are special education students and everyone in between. The community is very supportive of our school, and we work to meet the needs of all our students.
My Project
My students will use the the book Character Kids Save the Day and Save the Day Character Capes to help support Social Emotional learning. The following materials will be used to support Nevada Academic Content Standards.
The pop it game and pop it fidget will actually be used for math.
The magnetic learning numbers and Find the Number Activity Center will also support the following objectives. Squeeze Scoop Count Ice Cream Shop and, Lakeshore Counting Cones. The math objectives that will be addressed are K.CC.A.1 K.CC.A.3, and K.CC.B.4.a.
The Magic Board Printing Practice Cards, Basic Skills Practice Ring, and the Magnetic Learning Letters - Lowercase will address the following standards RF K.3a.
Since kindergarten is the foundation of academic learning these materials will help my students learn the basics during this year of pandemic learning. They will be able to learn letters, sounds, and eventual read and write sentences. The same goes for math. They will learn numbers and later equations.
