My Project
Learning and growing together as students, friends, and teachers is amazing! As the school year begins we are starting a new ELA program. This new program is more collaborative than before. The 5th grade students will be working together to learn the curriculum by communicating, problem solving, and helping each other succeed. The goal in our classroom will always be that every child is cared about and will be successful. They will be surrounded with the tools and support needed to accomplish this goal.
The students will be collaboratively answering questions as a small group relying on each other.
While collaborating they will need supplies to successfully accomplish their goals. Post-it notes, big and small will be used significantly throughout the year. The students will be moving around the classroom writing, talking, solving, but most of all working towards the goal of understanding the content. This new program is helping the students learn communication skills that will set them up for a life of success. They will need classroom supplies that will help them work together. Post-it notes will be used to check for understanding and markers to make diagrams, showing their understanding of a concept taught. The white boards will be used to check for understanding when working individually. The students can show other student what they wrote and why.
I am looking forward to the start of a new school year. As an educator it is my job to help these students feel loved and to have the confidence to learn and grow. These supplies will help the students succeed in so many areas.
