My Students

I teach the littlest of learners who come to school for the very first time. My students are three, four and five years olds who come from all areas of Chicago from diverse backgrounds. Many of my students come from high poverty neighborhoods. My school has self contained classrooms for students with special needs from kindergarten to third grade. It also has two self-contained pre-k classrooms, a blended preschool classroom and three preschool classrooms. I currently teach in one of the preschool classrooms which has an AM and a PM class. Some of my students have IEP's. They have developmental and speech delays. Most of my students are also learning English as a Second Language.

My students come to school with smiles on their faces in anticipation of the fun activities they are able to take part in while at school.

My Project

My students are three to five years old and my classroom is their first school experience. I want my students to be excited to come to school. Therefore, I do all that I can to make their experience one that is exciting and motivating.

My students need the Learning Alive Suite in order to help them learn beginning math and alphabet skills.

Learning Alive is a cross-curricular augmented reality program. Students with a variety of learning styles, including visual, auditory and tactile, will be enchanted with this program. Learning Alive incorporates science, social studies, geography and more into reading and math activities.

Learning Alive will give my students access to the newest 3D technology. For example, when we learn about letter H, a horse will seem to pop out of our interactive whiteboard and come alive! Many of my students learn best using their visual and auditory skills. These materials will allow them to use some of the newest technology available in preschool today.
