Help me give my students drawing paper, LEGO and pastels, for exploring and learning STEAM opportunities between academic core standards.

My Students

My class this year is very talkative, enthusiastic, and energetic about learning. We love to move, discuss, and do hands-on activities. Many students have come to class saying "I can't wait to see what Mrs. H. is going to be teaching us today!" In our school, we strive to give our students the opportunity to achieve good scores with the curriculum in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.

My class has a moto we live by and it is, "Try It".

This has been an aspect we use in our classroom daily! I strive to give them as many opportunities as possible to try new things and to succeed.

My Project

Having hands on items always resonate with students more than abstract thinking. The LEGO, drawing paper, and oil pastels will be used by the students, so that they may create art for the hallway with concepts we have learned about. The organizational baskets will contain the LEGO, so they have a safe place for them. The Gravity Maze Marble Run will be used so that my students apply one of our science curriculum core standards. The standing table will make it so I can have the students show and explain their work. With the desk I have how, students need stand on a chair to use the projector to show and explain their work. The desk will help the students by being able adjust to their heights. I want them to be safe using and showing their work.

With these supplies, my students will continue to explore in science, 3D and 2D art while having hands on items to resonate our learning.

These will also have the students work in pairs or smaller groups for the supplies instead of sharing one set for the whole class. Having students work into smaller groups allow them more time with the material. It gives the students more time with the supplies for the lessons as well.
