My Project

Our whole school, all first through fifth grade students, will be going on a field trip to see the production of "She Persisted". This play is based on the children's book series featuring inspiring and amazing women from the past. This will be the first field trip for most of our students this year and they are very excited to have this experience. Many students will also be going to see their first play.

This project will give all first through fifth grade classrooms a complete set of the "She Persisted" books for their classroom library.

It also gives some additional biographies to our third through fifth grade classrooms, and some additional books to our second and fifth grade classrooms who are studying the civil rights movement. These books will help build excitement around the play, and give our students some background knowledge so they will understand the play and get the most out of the experience.
