Help me give my students TIME for Kids, Teachers Pay Teachers resources, and markers which they need to learn about voting and current events in today's world.
My students are from a large, urban community that welcomes families from all over the globe.
My students bring a special blend of linguistic diversity, background knowledge, prior experiences, and culture to our school.
We are a Title I school in a low-income community.
Free breakfast and free lunch are available to every child in our building each day, and these are now remotely served. I have twenty-nine students in my class.
I went to this district for my whole education, have raised and educated my children in this city, and have taught here my whole career.
My students are very enthusiastic about learning. We provide specific academic support to students to meet their specific needs so they can reach their personal potential. My class is made up of diverse needs and levels. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in our newly established distance remote learning platform. My students have been learning at home as the school was closed due to the COVID-19 virus for the rest of the school year. This presents a challenge as most of my students do not have access to supplies in their homes.
My Project
With the election drawing near this project will help my students understand civics and the process of voting. We will read and talk about what it means to have the "Right to Vote". We will create posters about the importance of voting.
As young citizens of the United States, it is important to know and understand what is going on in our country today.
Children need to learn about the struggles and dangers that others had to go through so that we can have certain freedoms today. These books will teach the history behind our freedoms and the importance of voting.
TIME for Kids digital magazines will teach the children about what is currently going on in our world so they can make better choices.
Teacher Pay Teachers will provide digital materials and lessons on voting and civil rights.
