Learning About the World: Time For Kids

My students need access to high quality current events materials to help them engage with the world. Individual subscriptions of Time for Kids will help them access the latest news.

My Students

Our school serves children in grades pre-k to 5th grade. Many of our students are 1st and 2nd generation immigrants who are new to the English language. Some of our students are currently living in transitional housing. Additionally, we have a large special needs population.

Our students love to be in school and to learn!

Many of our students have difficult home lives and being at school provides a safe environment. PS 164 is like a second family to our students and our staff.

My Project

Students at our school love learning about the newest and the latest happenings in our world. Time for Kids is a great way for them to learn about current events in an age appropriate way. Time for Kids provides monthly magazines and digital resources that are on a second grade level. Students can read and enjoy these materials on their own.

By donating to our project, you will be providing resources that help our students develop their understanding of different communities and cultures.

You will also be instilling a love of nonfiction reading that can help our students well beyond their elementary years. Time for Kids magazines support vocabulary growth, as well as reading comprehension skills.
