This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are 5 and 6-year-olds who attend a Title I school. We are a Title I school because 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. My students come from low-income families where there is often only one parent working in the household. Even though my students come from a low economic environment, they are still very eager to learn. My students really need the basic essentials in life, because their parents are unable to provide these things for them.
Tradewinds Educational Farm will educate the students about the various types of farm animals native to the area. Also, they will get to pat some of the animals.
The Tradewinds Educational Farm is home to numerous farm animals including cows, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens, as well as a miniature donkey.
Other animals that can be seen at Tradewinds Park are horses, ponies, and peacocks.
The Country House Museum provides a glimpse of the park's past. This reconstructed farmhouse once belonged to the site's original owners.
If you support this project it will help our kindergarten students at our school learn about animals that live on the farm. Also, it is a great educational field trip to attend.
