My students need stamp pads and letters stamps as some of them are unable to write, books as there is not a science curriculum, and hands-on materials to learn concepts.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I want my students to be able to learn about and experience the concepts in the Extensions of the Common Core, however, we lack so many of the materials to do that as well as appropriate materials for students with significant disabilities.
The students in my class are high school students ranging in age from 14-22 and are from a low-income area.
The students in my class have a varying degree of ability levels as some are able to work in basic jobs with supervision and others need hand-over-hand assistance to complete simple tasks. Our school is a very diverse Title 1 school and has over 1,500 students. The students in my class are definitely students who want to be at school.
My Project
My students will be able to complete writing tasks with the stamps and stamp pads. They will be able to connect with science vocabulary using these materials as well. The students will gain knowledge of their bodies and environment with the requested books and magnets. My goal with these items is for the students to learn how to care for themselves as well as their community.
Your donation will improve my classroom as my students will have appropriate materials to learn the Extensions of the Common Core.
My students will be able to touch, manipulate, discuss, and explore science concepts related to themselves and the environment with these quality resources.
