My Project
These tools will continue to enrich my students social and emotional learning through books and activities. As we navigate the "new normal" with COVID-19 I would like to equip my students with the tools that are needed to build their social and emotional learning skills, that may have been missed during the year of distance learning.
The goal that I have for my students is for my students to learn more about their own emotions through different outlets instead of just watching videos and doing a few lessons throughout the week.
These resources will be used to be incorporated on an everyday basis with a classroom filled with different types of learners. In our classroom, I acknowledge that not all students learn the same type of way. That being said, having resources that are useful to physical/kinesthetic learners, social/interpersonal learners, visual/spatial learners, verbal learners and intrapersonal learners is extremely important.
For example, the books about emotions, being kind and compassionate and social emotional learning allows students to read and learn about what emotions are and how to be mindful of others and their classmates around them and why it is important. These resources particularly are something that the intrapersonal learners in the classroom. Another example is the different social emotional games are for my students who will how to handle real life situations and scenarios that may come up throughout the school day and equip them with the knowledge and tools on what to do.
