Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a mobile Health Assistant who takes care of the needs of sick children. It is refreshing and it gives me a rewarding feeling to be there to take care of the needs of 5 year olds. My students are low income families and we need your help. I just love seeing there faces even when it is not always a happy time. They come to me when they are not feeling well and sometimes they drop by to say hi. I often do hand washing techniques and tooth brushing as well. On my last zoom meeting, I showed the children how to stay 6 feet away and we practiced. My goal is for children to remain healthy and safe during this time. They are amazing children who make me a better person.

My Project

It is important to show children how to correctly brush their teeth. Having a model there to show the children how to maintain a healthy smile is a fun way of teaching it. My role for the children and their families, is to educate them about good hygiene and it is has a rewarding feeling to show the parents what they have learned by uploading a short video and or slide show. I would like for my room to be filled with everyday lessons that will promote a healthy life.
