Using Australopithecus and Neanderthal skull models is essential in studying human evolution because they provide physical representations of early hominids that helped researchers understand the anatomical changes that occurred over time. By comparing these skulls with modern human models, my students can observe differences in brain size, facial structure, and jaw morphology, which reveal key adaptations. These models also allow for more accurate reconstructions of how early humans may have lived, including their behavior and cognitive abilities. Overall, they offer valuable insights into the gradual process of human evolution and the development of traits that distinguish us from other species.
These models should last for decades, benefiting thousands of students over the years.
