Learning About Different Holidays Around the World

Help me give my students paper umbrellas, zipped ties, shovels, filled eggs, tea cups, plates and napkins to expose students to different holidays, such as Chinese New Year, while creating student-centered and experimental learning with hands-on activities.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students deserve the best because they are dedicated, caring, and terrific kiddos. One of our social studies Common Core State Standards is to learn about different holidays and events. My students really enjoyed learning about the different cultures and events that their classmates take part in.

I would love to have my kiddos participate in engaging and fun learning experiences with their classmates, while staying fit and healthy.

I plan to teach my students about Diwali, Santa Lucia Day, Boxing Day, Festival of Lights, Omisoka, Chinese New Year, Kwanzaa, Christmas etc. After learning about the different holidays, each student will use the requested paper parasol umbrella, zipped ties, Valentine shovels, filled eggs, tea cup, saucers and napkin set to create personalized crafts and participate in hands-on activities for spring holidays such as Chinese New Year, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Father's Day etc. Thank you in advance for your support! I cannot wait to see their faces and hear about their experience while mastering one of their social studies standards.
