My Project

My school is a STEAM magnet school in a military (navy) neighborhood. My students have moderate-to-severe disabilities that impact their rate of learning and overall social skills. As such, it's important for me to provide my exceptional students with visual and hands-on learning opportunities in order to overcome fine motor skill deficits while expanding their knowledge base and skills. I plan to incorporate these little people community members into our daily social skills building time. Students will learn about the important members of their communities in a fun and interactive way while also working to build language, social skills, and self advocacy.

These items will help us learn to interact appropriately while we practice taking turns, making requests, and asking for what we want/need while we use our imaginations and learn about our communities.

Help me give my students an imaginative play centers that they deserve so that we can continue to build these important and very necessary skills.
