Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students attend a Title 1 school and the majority of them come from low‑income households. Their families work hard to provide for them but sometimes there is no room for extras.
My students love coming to Spanish class and are excited to learn a new language.
We implement different strategies and provide learning opportunities to help every student have fun while learning. They deserve a place where they can grow academically and personally.
Their classroom should offer a wide variety of tools and resources to help them achieve excellence and grow everyday. With your help, our Spanish class will be a better place where all students learn and grow every day! Thank you for the opportunity.
My Project
Teaching Spanish as a foreign language in grades K-5th can be challenging, but every time my students come to my classroom, they are motivated and ready to learn. When learning a new language, visuals become a very important component. Teaching vocabulary with colorful flashcards and visual cues is beneficial for students of all ages. We would love to have access to a color printer and toner because there are so many activities, projects and resources that will be enhanced with color prints.
