I teach hardworking, motivated, inquisitive first graders. I absolutely love this job! My littles are always questioning, conversing, debating, engaging, and most importantly, learning. We love to read, we love STEM, we love calculating and solving math problems, we love diving into science experiments, and we love to write. My students have invested in their work as well as their peers around them.
Our school is a three-time National School of Character, A Missouri Gold Star School and a Blue Ribbon School.
My six and seven-year-olds shine every day.
My students are natural born leaders. They are hands-on learners, they thrive when provided with interactions and experiences. Every day is a great day in first grade! I am so lucky to call these kiddos my students!
My Project
I am a HUGE advocate for flexible seating! I truly believe that it completely alters a classrooms' atmosphere in the most positive of ways and has the ability to meet the needs of all learners. When children have a voice and choice and the opportunity to MOVE - that creates an environment that is conducive to learning. Right now, my entire classroom is filled with flexible seating. From couches to wobble stools to yoga ball chairs, we've got it all going on. I'd love to provide my students with another space to sit and work during whole group instruction or centers.
We'd LOVE four lap desks to sit on the floor while we work!
These lap desks are absolutely amazing! My teammate just received these from Donors Choose and I knew I had to get on here and ask for them for our classroom. My kiddos LOVE to spread out every where in our classroom and find a spot that is best for them. Often time, that space is on the floor some where or on one of our couches. I love that they are spreading out but we are running into issues without having a hard or firm surface to write on. These would make a world of difference in our classroom and I really hope to use these soon!! Thank you for your time and consideration :)
