What if the classroom had a library full of books to spark the interest of every child? How big could that fire become?
At our school, we have students from a broad range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
While they have many differences, they still have a lot of things in common. They are kids who like to have fun and want to succeed and make a difference in their world.
My students have shown great potential and I cannot wait to see what they will do as they use their education to impact people around them. They are writers, scientists, engineers, artists, politicians, teachers, and much, much more. They will be fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, and grandparents who will reach into the lives of future generations and make a change that will alter the destinies of thousands, if not millions.
My Project
Our desire at our school is not only to become better readers, but to become leaders in literacy. Every day we take time to read books to build our reading comprehension. This set of books will give students a reading option during this time that will hold their interest and grow their love of reading.
We have a small library of books in our class that students have to choose from that cover a variety of time periods in history.
Donations to this project will help build this library with a variety of fiction and non-fiction books that are high interest. They will continue to increase their desire to read and add to their tools to sharpen their literacy skills.
