Help me give my students an interactive, cozy learning space to learn as well as an interactive Alphabet rug for kinesthetic learning of their letters and letter sounds.
Our students are English Language Learners. They come to us from many countries and life situations. Our students may be learning English as a new language, or they are intermediate or advanced students who are learning more nuanced English.
ELL students need our classroom to be a safe, calm room where they can learn English, and take a break from the constant culture shock and language overload they sometimes experience when they are new.
We work hard to service over 85 students at varying language levels, and we are hoping to create a space for them to thrive and flourish.
My Project
This amazing Alphabet Rug will give my students a place for our meeting times, mini-lessons, and group work. By having letters on the rug, our students who are learning letters and letter sounds will also benefit.
By being able to have students "stand on a letter" or "jump from vowel to vowel" we can reinforce letter/sound skills and create readers!
We are so excited to be able to make our classroom a vibrant, colorful and interactive place for our most kinesthetic learners.
