This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten students are eager, energetic, and enthusiastic learners. My class is primarily composed of second language learners who love singing, painting, reading, and using computers. We have so much to learn and love in Kindergarten!
All of the students in my class have many learning modalities and one thing that unifies them is that they work best in small group centers.
We love to use hands-on materials and explore all academic subjects in a small group setting.
My Project
Using an Apple TV will enhance the classroom whiteboard to work as a smart board. An Apple TV will allow me to take virtual field trips in the classroom and enhance lessons in technology, math, language arts, art, theater and social studies. I can connect my Apple laptop to the Apple TV and then project it to the whiteboard wirelessly while I help assist students on their Chromebooks. The Apple TV helps avoid cables across the floor which is safer for all my kindergarteners.
The Apple TV will help project the whiteboard as a smart board so students can learn how to use Google Slides, coding, and word documents.
Implementing this technology for my students will help them reach their goals in math, computer science, enrich their typing skills when using word documents and access technology in various ways.
