Help me give my students get the chance to learn to crochet. I have plenty of yarn to share with the students but do not have enough crotchet hooks to teach the students that want to learn.
Students spend twenty minutes in the morning during an advisory period where students can ask questions of any kind. Students have shown interest in crocheting which will give me an opportunity to connect more with the students. Since I am a crafter, I do have plenty of yarn at this point but I do not have enough crochet hooks to offer to my entire class or students that might want to try. We can use the sleeves to hold patterns. Unfortunately many of my students do not have enough funds to purchase crochet hooks either.
Not only will the students get to learn a new skill making textiles but also have a chance to feel more comfortable to ask any questions that might be bothering them.
I find that connecting with students is crucial. Knowing that a student feels comfortable to talk openly with a teacher can change a negative situation a student might be facing into a more positive outcome.
