Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Sphero Bolt+ and Maze allows students to create an obstacle course with a story like rescuing stranded hikers, putting out fires, caving, coal mining, touring a city or park, and whatever their imagination goes.

The Bolt+ can be coded by distance unlike the previous version so it can make more precise movements and allow students to do what they imagine.

The original Bolt could only go a certain speed for an amount of time. If students could calculate the friction between the sphero and surface then they could possible figure this out but in middle school this is too complicated. So they do a lot of trial and error but even when they get close the lightest difference prevents them from being successful.

With the plus they are more likely to be successful and be able to have fun feeling accomplished as they learn to code, engineer, and more. This can be used in class and for the after school STEAM group. Students can even compete in some competitions using this robot.
