My kindergarten class consists of 17 energetic students. Some of my students are ESL (English as a Second Language) learners, they come to me in the beginning of the year with little to no English. Out of the eight elementary schools in the district, we have the highest poverty rate. About 78% of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
I love to provide my students with creative opportunities to learn and to express themselves.
Acquiring these Dash robots will give my students that exact opportunity in learning to code.
My Project
With a surge of interest in technology and coding. It is important for children to begin to learn to write code. Coding is being viewed as a new type of literacy and form of personal expression. Coding fosters students mathematical and computational ideas. In addition, coding encourages students' learning strategies in problem-solving, logical reasoning, peer collaboration and sharing.
These Dash robots will help inspire my students to creatively learn to code.
These robots and accessories have available a number of child friendly programming tools to do several activities with. They are capable robots that can sense their environment and can be programmed wirelessly using a touch device, making learn to code fun and easy.
