This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of hands-on literacy items, including Snap-Together Letter Blocks, a fluency and comprehension kit, and more, for my classroom. As an autistic support teacher, I have students working on many different levels. Some students are learning letter sounds while others are reading on a 1st-4th grade level and working on improving their vocabulary, reading comprehension and reading fluency. It is vital to differentiate our classroom centers and teacher-led activities to fully support all of my students' learning styles and needs.
I plan on using these center materials with my students to enhance their personalized learning pathways.
I teach in an underprivileged school district on the outskirts of Philadelphia. My goal is to have centers in my classroom. My reading centers will promote literacy skills and hopefully a love for reading. The centers will also allow the students to work individually or in groups, supporting all kinds of learners!
