This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every day my students bring a piece of home to school and that is their home language. They enrich me with their culture and I never stop learning from them. In exchange, for my English Language Learners, I hope to cultivate a love and interest in English. Learning a new language is no easy task, I hope the listening center will provide more auditory exposure that is necessary for language development. Frequent practice is key in learning a language and even better if it is on repeat.
Through the use of a listening center, children can develop vocabulary and make connections through the visuals provided by books.
Students are able to use continuously practice and re-read as necessary to work at their own pace. Once they develop fluency, it'll open doors to wonderful stories and fun expressive plays.
