My Project

After being a Math Specialist for 9 years, I am going back in the classroom to teach 5th grade Science and Social Studies for the 2024-2025 year. I plan on giving my students a safe, nurturing and inviting environment to learn in.

By having a community rug in the classroom to sit on, we will be able to come together as a group and focus on the TEKS at hand.

The tennis balls for chairs will help to minimize the noise when students get up from their chairs and walk around the room. Having headphones for each student will help them to better hear when we are doing projects or assignments on the computer that have sound capabilities. Most students in my Title I school can only afford to purchase the small ear buds which end up breaking or getting lost.

Please help me set up my classroom so my students feel they are entering into a safe and nurturing environment where they can learn and grow while in 5th grade. My students deserve so much more, but if I can create a little comfort and stability for them, it will help a lot during their educational journey with me.
