Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Teaching and learning is an ever-changing , ever-growing and ever-evolving process and is proving to be challenging keeping students engaged with the latest and greatest technological advances. Providing students with interactive, skills-based, STEM technology has been proven to effectively improve learning gains.
Osmo makes hands-on learning games in which players use objects in the real world to interact with the digital world shown on their iPad or Fire tablets.
Osmo creates learning games that are designed to grow young minds. The Osmo kits offer games for a wide range of academic subjects, including: Coding, Math, Drawing, Spelling, Fundamentals of Physics, Spatial relational skills, and World geography.
In addition to teaching traditional subject matter, Osmo games foster social-emotional skills like problem-solving, creativity and perseverance. Every Osmo game requires the player to use reasoning to arrive at the correct answer, or even to chart a new path entirely.
Osmo will be used as a supplemental resource to help my students close learning gaps and increase problem solving skills, foster critical thinking and nurture interest in the fine and visual arts.
