My Project

Our school has a unique population as the majority of our students come from military families. As a result, we have a constant ebb and flow of students transitioning in and out throughout the year. Covid-19 has added an additional layer of inconsistency to our school environment and has made this school year more challenging in regards to educational continuity. Although students were able to return to the classroom after distance learning for over a year, many have missed multiple days of school because of quarantine, waiting for Covid-19 test results, or because they exhibited symptoms.

The use of an iPad and accessories like the Apple Pencil will help bridge the gap for students both in the classroom and through distance learning.

These tools will be utilized to increase engagement and create instructional videos for students to continue their education while at home. Video lessons allow students to seamlessly transition to distance learning at the same pace as their peers which can alleviate anxiety and feelings of being overwhelmed upon their return to school. In addition, classroom headphones will allow students to work independently on differentiated assignments and testing. Our students have shown resiliency through this pandemic and deserve educational continuity to ensure their future success.
