This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our program consists of children with various special needs and English language learners. My students have different interests, abilities, and goals. I want to create a high-quality preschool classroom that will provide opportunities for them to learn and grow.
My students come to school eager to explore and learn through hands-on activities.
My Project
Our classroom is in need of hands-on materials that will help engage them in thinking, creating, and learning while they play. Using manipulatives will provide multiple opportunities for students to practice fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and letter/number sequence. The Fine Motor Math Centers can help students connect ideas and integrate their knowledge so that they gain a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
My goal is to make learning meaningful for students by using hands-on materials.
The new materials will help me create fun, engaging learning centers. My students will have opportunities to develop fine motor, language, recognition of shapes, colors, and textures, comparison of similarities and differences, matching, classification, and pattern recognition.
