Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love painting! With liquid watercolor, students enjoy learning to mix colors with ease. Also, the aqua brushes help minimize art mess as water is stored on the handle of the brush. Less trips to the sink allow students more time to work.
The goal for this project is for students to master color theory by learning how to use their primary colors in making their secondary, tertiary, tints, tones, and shades using watercolor.
While the primary and secondary colors are made by adding watercolor, the whites and tints are made by diluting pigments, instead of adding white paint. Having a good control on the amount of water would be crucial and having clean water will be a challenge for students that are new to watercolor. The aqua brush holds water in the brush in itself, and bristles can be cleaned by squeezing the brush to let out the water, allowing lesser trips to the sinks.
