I just started teaching and I absolutely love my 3rd graders already. They are so eager to learn and I want to provide them the best opportunities to learn. These students come from very low-income families and have many other things to be worried about other than school. I always strive to give them the best opportunities and best materials they need to succeed as young learners. My students love working with anything hands-on and being able to express themselves visually and physically.
My Project
My students truly learn so much better when they have the opportunity to move around the classroom and are not confined to one seat. They struggle sitting in their seats for too long. If I had dry erase pocket folders, the students would be able to move over to my small group table and I will be able to work with the students with ease and be able to save paper. With hanging chair pockets, they will be able to quickly turn around, grab their items, and get right back on track thus decreasing transition time and increasing learning time. Finally, the clipboards will be the most beneficial to help the students travel the classroom and write wherever they need to go.
