My Students
I am requesting oviparous animal eggs, habitats for them, and books that will be used to research and learn about them as they develop and change.
My students are 4th graders at a Title One school in Florida. They attend a public elementary school of about 900 students. About 79% of these students are receiving free or reduced lunch. These students share very limited technologies and need more.
My Project
Animal Life Cycles is a motivating unit, as most children are naturally interested in, and curious about, animals. With these materials, children will be able to develop an appreciation and wonder for the life cycles of a variety of animals. My students will learn about the changing needs of young animals as they grow and develop, and how changes in the environment can impact upon animal life cycles.
This unit can perpetuate the idea that people can do things to help conserve animal life and that students themselves can develop, as well as carry out, a plan of action to assist with this.
