My students need a digital camera to take pictures for the yearbook.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help a high school with technology in its name leap into modern times. The yearbook staff is a group of spirited, creative 12th graders who want to produce a book that encapsulates their 4 years in their 'home away from home'.
When I first handed my students the 'point and shoot' cameras and a roll of film, they looked at me as if we had just entered a time warp. To make matters worse, those cameras are mostly being held together by scotch tape. After being frustrated with the lag time in developing each roll of film, the kids rightfully pointed out the waste that is created by taking a roll of 36 pictures and possibly only using 2 or 3 of the developed pictures. I then had to explain that although we were a school focused on technology, we did not have the funding to buy digital cameras.
With the purchase of even one digital camera, the yearbook staff could speed up production and cut down on wasted time and money from developing pictures that will never be placed in our book. We would also be able to begin using more advanced software that requires digital photography.
So please help a group of great kids leap into the 21st century and let a high school that is supposed to be driven by technology get their hands on some equipment that was created in modern times.
