We are working on building more reading fluency with the help of Leap Pad's. I teach in a first grade classroom in the state of Missouri. I am using the Leap Pad's to get the students more excited about reading by having them work on their own "Computer" or Leap Pad PLT.
The students are having a hard time with recognizing sight words and reading with fluency. However, we have not been successful in finding the funds for the books that go with the Leap Pad PLT's.
Having the books that go with the Leap Pads will allow us to use the Leap Pads more frequently and during center time. Students that need a boost in self confidence when it comes to reading with fluency will gain more success when using the Leap Pad.
With your help you will ensure that our first grade students will become more successful readers. With you and the Leap Pads my students will gain self confidence and become more engaged in reading.
