My students need hands-on activities for learning centers to enhance their learning! The Fairy Tales STEAM kit will allow numerous opportunities for classroom discussions.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My energetic and enthusiastic first graders are always eager to explore new learning experiences! My classroom is made up of students with various levels of English development! Everyday is a new day to obtain more English into their expanding vocabulary.
My students reside in an urban neighborhood.
There is a 89% poverty level at my school. 100% of the students are able to participate in the free lunch program. Many of our students are bused to and from school. Many of our students face various obstacles that can make learning a challenge. However, our school provides a safe and nurturing environment for students to soar!
My Project
My magnificent first graders are enthusiastic learners! My students flourish with hands on experiences in learning centers! Through providing concrete materials in language arts and mathematics my students are able to maneuver the rigorous Common Core State Standards. All of my students are acquiring English as a second language, thus providing materials for learning centers will allow them to soar into learning.
I have asked for donations to improve the materials in my learning centers in language arts and mathematics.
Through repeated learning experiences with a variety of materials, this will allow my students to be successful in first grade as well as future grades, since much of the educational foundation in established in the primary grades.
The adjustable pocket chart stand will provide the visual of learning centers rotations I will need to have readily available to ensure my students will know which learning center they are to explore and learn. I will have a pocket chart attached to the pocket chart stand and students will be able to reference what is expected of them. The Magnetic Sound Sorting Boards will be used during learning center time for my students to learn, reinforce, and maneuver sounds. This will be especially beneficial to my students; 100% of my first grade are acquiring English as a second language. The Math Folder Library will be used during Math centers to reinforce and obtain mathematics strategies needed to master the Common Core State Standards. The playdough and lowercase alphabet dough stamps will be used so my students can stamp out sight words and irregular spelled words as another way to practice and learn. Learning centers in my classroom is an important time when students can reinforce, enhance, and show independence of their learning.
