Leaping For LeapPads

My students need 3 LeapPad Ultimate tablets to enhance hands-on and individualized learning.

My Students

I am a teacher in a Title 1 school which means many of my students are at-risk, high poverty homes. This means many of my students do not get a good start in academics at home. This means I need to provide as many hands on creative learning experiences for my children because they do not have those opportunities at home.

Many of my children have low attention spans and are very active.

Many of my children are set in front of a TV with no interaction so they come to school not even knowing how to play or interact with other children. Academic skills as well as social skills are lacking in most of my students.

My Project

In our classroom, we have a Smart board but no other technology for the students to use. We currently use Leap books and the children love the interaction with the books. I have brought a couple of old smartphones to enhance learning by using apps and my Amazon account for books.

These tablets will allow for safer and better technology experiences for my children.

They are much bigger than the little phones so more than 1 child can use them at the same time which will enhance social skills. They have teacher controls so I can keep the kids only on certain apps or activities. These Leap pad tablets are designed for little kids in mind.
