Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember the first time you read a book and could not put it down? My students are wanting to discover that same feeling.
I teach a group of inner city, low-income six-year-olds.
The dynamics of the class is 95% Hispanic. They attend a public Charter School. My students are English Language learners, and would love to have the opportunity to explore books through the use of technology. Most of the children do not own books, but express the joy of reading and being read to.
My Project
I am requesting LEAP TAG material for my students. I have a major passion for literacy. I would like to instill this passion for reading in my students by familiarizing them to the LEAP TAG system. The material I am requesting will give them the opportunity to increase their phonemic awareness, and comprehension skills. In addition, the material will offer support to my ELL students, and enable them to make connections to the real world!
Investing in a child's life is a wonderful feeling.
I am fortunate in that I can do this everyday. Unfortunately, there are times when I cannot get to all students, academically. Please help make reading an easy and enjoyable experience for all of my students!
