Leapfrog Letter Learning at HOME!

Help me give my students DVDs and flashcards to help them practice letters and sounds at home during this critical time.

My Students

Brave! My students are brave. They want to know the letter sounds and names. Less proficient learners require more support to learn and practice letter sounds and names independently. Seventy-one percent of our school's diverse population comes from low-income backgrounds.

My students with unique learning needs are working to meet grade level literacy criteria.

These students come from loving families who work hard to provide for their needs and do not have extra funds at this critical time for extra learning resources at home. My proposed project will assist in providing DVDs to kindergarten students who were behind their peers learning the names and sounds of letters and now due to Covid19 can't go to school at all. I desire to motivate my students to continue to work on letter names and letter sounds in order to advance my students literacy skills while providing opportunities for them to cultivate a love for reading at home.

Please help these young, unique, diverse, and deserving students!

My Project

The Letter Factory DVD was highly recommended for kindergarten students by Dr. Michael Heggerty creator of Heggerty Phonemic Awareness curriculum. He stated that his school gave them to every incoming kindergarten student each year. It is an engaging and fun way to learn and remember letter names and letter sounds. This DVD also comes with a set of flashcards for parents to use to practice with their child at home during our remote learning days.

I have 12 students who need these DVDs at home during our remote learning days.
