This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title 1 school which means the majority of students come from low income families. The majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. They do not get opportunities to use devices like the Leap Frog Tag. They would be so excited to use it.

The students that attend our school are from low income families and some do not have a permanent living situation.

Majority of our students come from Hispanic speaking homes and do not speak English. The rest read below their grade reading level. You would not know it by looking at them though, they are all smiles walking into school and out. They love their teachers and they love learning.

My Project

The Leap Frog Tag systems will help these children so much. It will offer a fun and creative way to increase their word recognition, vocabulary, and reading skills. I know the children will be so excited to use this system and will look forward to learning how to read.

Reading is such an important skill.

Without it, students do not exceed in any subject. If not helped early on, students who cannot read will loose interest in school, will drop out, and will receive poor grades. By helping to close the gap now will help students to do better in school later on. The Leap Frog Tag system might actually save a child from dropping out of school or giving up.
