This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 18 kindergartners in a Title I school. Over 90% of our student population qualifies for free or reduced lunch. We are a high needs school.

Budget cuts have been devastating and we can not rely on our families to help with supplemental materials.

Many of my students' parents work multiple jobs and simply don't have the time to work with their children at home, let alone provide technology for them.

My Project

The Leapfrog Leap Pad Explorer is like an iPad but made especially for kids! The children can choose a fun educational application not even realizing that they are learning how to spell, count, add, or READ! My students are always asking to have access to the computer. We only have four in our classroom. The Leap Pad will allow my students to have more access to valuable technology and a fun and exciting way to learn!

Children love to read books, but I hear "I don't know how to read" all day long.

The Leap Pad will allow my students to become more independent and successful readers. Your donation will add valuable technology to our classroom.
