This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a dedicated National Board Certified Education Specialist in a high school setting, I work at a Title I school that serves a diverse group of students. I am inspired by their determination as they navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges. In my Community-Based Instruction (CBI) class, we've engaged in activities such as joining the yearbook staff, participating in school events, volunteering in the community, and serving on the Associated Student Body (ASB). My students excel in movement and hands-on experiences, and I am honored to be their teacher, encouraging them to exceed their highest expectations.

As a high school teacher, I find that many of my special education students lack the necessary life skills to succeed in a career or as leaders.

These motivational "Make a Difference" supplies will set my students on the leadership track. Students will learn about leadership and the qualities of a leader. As they move through the semester, I will look for students who continue to practice and emulate these skills. They can earn motivational journals, cups, bracelets, pens, and/or candles. Leadership is a life skill that my students can learn. They are AMAZING! Thank you for supporting my students with unique needs.
