Leaders Through Art

My students need a variety of art supplies including paint/brushes, paper, crayons, glue, markers, and clay in order to help our newly founded Art Club get off the ground.

My Students

Leadership skills are fostered through art. Creativity helps the students become risk takers and to learn about who they are. Art helps with observational skills and project planning. Art can help with social skills and collaboration. Our Art Club has created an interest from 100 of our students.

Our students that have joined the new Art Club range from the Kindergarten students to the sixth grade students.

Students have shown a large interest in learning about art and creating art. Our school has become a Leader in Me School. We are working as a staff to help students see the leader in them. We are a Title I school, which has experienced budget cuts. Our students are future leaders and innovators. We need to give them the opportunity to learn about art at a critical time in their education.

My Project

Students will be able to express their thoughts and feelings through art. Students will be able to be creative and think outside the box. Students will build confidence and increase their problem solving skills. My students need a variety of art supplies including paint/brushes, paper, crayons, glue, markers, clay, etc.. These art supplies will allow students to paint or color at the same time as having a meaning behind it. Students will create those meaningful holiday art pieces or those priceless pieces of art to hang on the refrigerator. Various projects will be crafting yarn balls for our physical education teacher to use during class. We have been asked to create a mural for our Garden Club. Art Club members will help create artistic posters to help promote school wide activities.

Students will be given the opportunity to be artists and expand their learning of the arts.

Students will be excited about art again and become leaders in art. Students will have the chance to show their skills and talents in ways they never thought could exist. Allowing a child to do art can help them relax and be open to learning. Students will be accountable and dedicated to their art pieces.
