My Project

A major part of the Montessori philosophy and methodology is student-driven learning and promoting independence. As a school community it would be great to have a tangible text that anchors us in core practices to support this process. We have had a series of professional development around this text and supporting students with becoming more independent and taking ownership over their learning.

This text could also be used as an onboarding text for new staff members so that they could build capacity around the practices that we value as a school community.

We will use this anchor text in our professional development and professional learning communities (PLCs) so that our teachers can in turn use these practices with our students to promote the independence and metacognition for our students.
