This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items from this project will encourage my students to be leaders and motivate their classmates to stay in motion. The scarves and balloons will be suspended at eye level or higher to help students reach up, which encourages eye hand coordination skills. The sensory pads will be used during times when a students needs help regulating emotions, and the hand drum will be part of our daily yoga cool down routine.
My goal for this project is to inspire my students to be present and move with intention, whether it's reaching for the balloon, rubbing the sensory pad for sensory input, or simply listening to the calming sounds of the hand drum.
My students are full of charisma, and always ready to conquer the day! They enjoy participating in a wide range of modified activities such as yoga, balloon volleyball, resistance training, and cosmic bowling. They keep me on my toes and are always helping me think outside of the box when creating fun and interactive lesson plans.
