This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is 1 of 6 on one campus. In such a large school, many students share that they feel like one in a crowd, which makes them less likely to seek individual support. A calming corner will remind students that they matter and that their safety and well-being is important. I want to stock our calming area with craft materials and lots of toys to comfort them as they visit their counselors.
Many students of our students struggle to convey and regulate their emotional reactions.
Our school already cares so much to support students, but we need tools to support this process.
