My Students

I teach high school biology to students in the San Francisco Bay Area. My students are surrounded by innovative science and technology companies, and my goal is to prepare them for their world outside of our classroom.

My students are aspiring scientists, innovators, and creative thinkers.

To prepare them for the future, I want to transform our classroom from a traditional desk in rows, lecture setting, to something that matches the laboratories and companies around us. I want students to explore, communicate, collaborate, and have hands-on lab experiences that open their eyes to the world around them and inspire them to help make our world a better place.

My students are eager to learn, and I want them to feel empowered and inspired in our classroom.

My Project

In our biology class, students do a lot of group work on whiteboards, from planning labs, graphing data, and sharing results. However, at the end of class, students need to erase the board so that the next class can use it. Students take photos if they can, but not everyone can access these photos of their great work. It's such a shame not to have a record of their thoughts.

Rocketbook beacons are a great new tool, that will allow my students to launch their dry erase into cyberspace!

Rocketbook Beacons allow students to capture, organize and broadcast important notes, diagrams, and big ideas on any whiteboard or wall surface in real-time. It will send their photos to a shared class Google Drive folder, which all students have access to.
