Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The school at which I work is a STEM school with students who strive to be better.
My students are all unique in their own ways and have many different needs based on each unique quality.
Having a variety of materials for each of these students can only to help them progress in all subjects, but also enrich their lives and so they develop a love of school.
The students I teach are smart students that are at a disadvantage. These students come from economically underprivileged homes and don't have many supplies to use in the classroom.
My Project
I am asking for classroom seating options (balance ball seats, wobble cushions, and extra large bean bags) so my students have more of a choice in how they want to sit while learning and completing independent work. By my students having a choice they will be more comfortable allowing them to engage more with the lessons. For example, the stability ball may help my constantly moving students to be able to calm down and focus on the lesson because it allows them to move while learning. Flexible seating will allow my students to move around the classroom and find the right environment to complete work effectively and learn efficiently from.
